Q: How can you sell these goods at such affordable prices?
A: Simple really. By dealing direct with the factories throughout the world, we are effectively cutting out three sections of the supply chain so allowing us to pass on savings to the end consumer. Admittedly, we could show a high list price for the products and then mark them down so as to show a "genuine" sale reduction but we believe that this course of action is wrong and unethical. We believe in setting our prices at the level at which they will best perform. Every day low pricing.
Q: As your own brand products are so competitively prices, what is your policy regarding other discounts?
A: We strive to be competitive within the marketplace. It is well known that by being a member of a running club you can usually obtain a 10% discount on purchases made from your local running store. Here at Time To Run, we do not believe in discriminating against runners who don't belong to a club and accordingly price all "branded" products at a minimum of 10% lower than the MRP so making the 10% discount available to all. The only times that we may offer an additional discount is if the organisation in question was looking to purchase either significant quantities or if they were a charitable organisation.
Q. Okay. We like the concept, we like the products and we love the prices. When are you going to add additional products?
A: Setting up a business is both time consuming and costly. Working as a small team, we have neither the resources nor the financial backing to embark on a programme which will take us on a mission of global domination. We do plan to expand, but any expansion will be controlled and organically financed. New designs and product categories are being worked on continuously in a planned programme of development, but these new products will not be brought to market until 100% ready.
Q: Understood. But what about other markets such as the general sports market?
A: This business was formed by runners to fulfil the needs of running enthusiasts. It has never been intended to offer vast financial rewards, (although that would be nice!) and has been based on the concept of small is beautiful. We feel that at the moment, any attempt to diversify into other market sectors will lead to a dilution of the Time To Run ethos which we are currently loath to do. However, if, in years to come, the business has grown and we can manage to diversify without damage to our core concept, then we may indeed look at other areas.
Q: I see that you stock other products which do not bear the Time To Run logo. If your concept is so good, why does everything not bear your logo?
A: When setting up this business, we were quite keen to do what we did best, which was the design, sourcing and retailing of quality sports apparel. Although we have knowledge of how the other branded goods that we feature work and perform, we do not have the knowledge to develop and manufacture them. We could, for arguments sake, go on a crash course in how to make energy drinks but doubt that we could improve on what is currently in the marketplace. We feel that if we were to add ‘own label' products which are potentially inferior to their branded equivalent, we would be running the risk of compromising the integrity of the Time To Run brand
Q: OK. So why stock these other products then?
A: Our customers come to our site because they know and trust us. They would also like to buy more items from us. We are therefore offering an additional service to our customers by marketing reputable ‘other brand' lines to complement our own specialist range of products.
Q: How long will it take to process my order?
A: Wherever possible, we endeavour to process all orders within 24 hours of receipt. If we cannot fulfil this timescale, we will contact you by email to provide you with a target date delivery date.
Q: How long will it take for my goods to be delivered?
A: All orders are despatched through the standard Royal Mail first class service which normally means delivery within 2-5 days.
Q: What happens if the goods that I have ordered are out of stock?
A: This should not normally be possible for orders taken on-line, as we only feature "in stock" products on our website. In extremely rare instances, there may be a possibility that two people have ordered the last of any particular product. In the event of this happening, you will be contacted within 24 hours of ordering.
